Reads the following shorts and fills them in accordance with the contents of the shorts. Only one appropriate word is filled in the blanks where no hints are given, and the correct form of the words given in brackets is filled in the blanks where the hints are given.

Christmas was near. I walked away from my school and followed the worn path through the trees onto the street In my pocket was a collection of coins and bills I ___2___ (earn) the summer before. Cars ran down the street as I opened the door to the store. The noise of the cars disappeared when the door closed I was a kid who felt out of place and on a mission. For the first time, I was going to buy a Christmas gift for my mum and dad.

I walked away from my school and followed the wheels through the Christmas as I opened the door to the store.

【答案】1. where;2. had earned;3. behind / after;

[Answer] 1. Where; 2. had learned; 3. behind / after;

[Pressing] It's a narrative, mainly about buying Christmas gifts for parents.

Question 1: Check the final sentence. Meaning: I left the school and came down to the street where Cole's grocery store was located along the old tree trail. According to the structure of the sentence, this is a definitive sentence, a street modifier of the first line, which is first written in the end of the sentence, so fills out where.

Question 2: Look at the state of affairs, meaning: I have in my pocket some coins and coins that I earned before summer. By the context, Christmas is coming, and what I did at the beginning of this paper is the normal present, and here is the past, the money that I saved before summer, the past, and the past. So fill it out.

故填 behind / after。

Check the adjective. Meaning: when the door closes behind me, the noise in the car disappears. Based on the context, the author goes to the store, opens the door in, and the door closes in the back. So fill in behind/after.

[point] The syntax is empty, mainly in conjunction with context meaning, or sentence structure, to determine what is contained. For example, the first question, based on context, and sentence structure, determines that this is a definitive sentence, and then finds the first line, Street, where the words are written in the end of the sentence, and where they are written.

According to a recent study, dolphins have displayed certain characteristics of human conversation in their communication. Two dolphins, Yana and Yasha,根据最近的一项研究,海豚在它们的交流中表现出人类谈话的某些特征。 Yasha, ___4___ (study) as they communicated with each other. Researchers found that they would stop talking in order to listen to ___5___ the other had to “say”, just like a conversation between two humans. Dolphins have been known to be one of the most intelligent We have studied dolphins for decades, but this new evidence on their communication patterns is one of the most exciting.

According to a recent study, dolphins have demonstrated certain features of human conversation in their interactions. As they came together with each other. Researchers found that they would stop talking in order to listen to _5_other had to “say”, just like a communication between two humans.

【答案】4. were studied;5. what;6. animals;

[Answer] 4. Were studied; 5. what; 6. animals;

故填 were studied。

In conjunction with a recent study, dolphins have some human communication features. So researchers have studied two dolphins, two dolphins, that is, two dolphins, that have been studied. Research has been done, and it's the past, so it's usually the past, because the dominant word is two dolphins, so it's a complex number.

Verbale: Researchers find that they stop talking, just like two people, to listen to what they say. According to the structure of the sentence, this is the speaking of the guest to which the verb Say is missing, so fill out what it is.

one of…

The meaning is: dolphins have always been one of the most intelligent animals known. One of... means one of...

【答案】7. located;8. integrates;9. to go;10. cultural;

[Answer] 7. Located; 8. integrates; 9. To go; 10. Cultural;

. . . >. >. < strong. > >. . >. . >. >....................................................................................................................................................................................

located

According to the structure of the sentence, this is a definitive modifier of the World Heritage Site, which is a passive relationship with the World Heritage Site and therefore is filled in with the previous verb. [This question is not a verb; the verb is a verb in the verb in the verb in the verb, so the verb is written in the sky.]

Into: Sitting on...........................................................................

Question 8 examines the state of affairs. The meaning is that digital excellence combines a variety of data, including videos, 3D data, pictures, and other data, into digital images that can be shared globally through the network.

Question 9 is not a verb. Meaning: it has a long way to go, but it has an important significance for the preservation of cultural heritage. Analysis of the sentence structure shows that it is the verb of the way, and it says that the action has not yet taken place, so there is a verb to go, and there is a long way to go: there is a long way to go, to go.

Question Adjectives: Although digitally brilliant is a long way to go, it has an important significance for the preservation of cultural heritage. Here is the word for heritage, which requires adjectives to be used to qualify the term, so fill in cultural.

When Brody, a 4-year-old Connecticut boy, was asked what wish he wanted to come true, his only dream was that he could be able to play outside.

When Brody, a 4-year-old Contractor boy, was asked what wish he wanted to come true, his only dream was that he could be able to play outside.

Brody was born premature (早产) at 27 weeks, which caused him to overheat and burn easily. That means he can't spend any time outside and he'll get burn blisters (水疱) on his face even when he is driven to the hospital. Besides, there are a lot of things he can't do. He has trouble walking and only began talking one year ago. Brody can't eat or drink and has to wear a backpack 24/7 that contains a pump that feeds him. “I can't even count the number of surgeries he's had since he was born,” Brody's mother said. “He's spent probably half his life at the hospital.” ”

Brody was born prematurely at 27 weeks, which causes him to overheat and burn easily. That means he can't spend any time outside and he'll get burn blisters on his face even when he is born even when he is dry to the hospial. There are a lot of things he can't do. He has fruit walking and only began talking one year ago. Brody can't eat or drink and has to wear a backpack 24/7 that fills that feed him.

When Make-A-Wish Connecticut, an organization that creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses, heard about Brody's request to play outside, they immediately jumped into action. “It's the most simple, most sweet wish, just to play outside but it seems to be the most difficult to realize.” said Debbie Artinian, the manager of Make-A-Wish Connecticut.

When Make-A-Wish Consult, an organization just to play outside but it seems to be the most delicate to enjoy.” Said Debbie Artian, the manager of Make-A-Wish Connecticut.

Artinian and her team determined that a temperature-controlled tent outside Brody's home where he could play and not be in the sun would be the best option. But they had to find a tent that could stand weather conditions like wind and snow and had the right material to block all UV rays. Luckily, Artinian found a company based in the United Kingdom that could design and make the tent. Make-A-Wish Connecticut learnt that Brody loves the beach, even though he is not able to go into water because of his backpack. So they filled the tent with water toys and a kids’ pool filled with balls to make Brody feel as much as possible like he's out at the beach.

Artinian and her team believe that the best option is to set up a temperature-controlled tent outside Brody’s house so that Brody can play there without being exposed to sunlight. But they must find a tent that can withstand weather conditions such as wind and snow, and have the right material to block all UV. Fortunately, Artinian found a company in England that could design and make tents.

Brody got his first look at the tent earlier this summer. “When he walked out of the door and I saw his face, it was just everything,” said Artinian. “Now when Brody says ‘Can I go out and play?’, his mom can say, “Yes.” “Brody is now enjoying spending nearly all his time "outside” in the tent.

“When he walked out of the door and I saw his face, it was just everything,” said Artinian. “Now when Brody says ‘Can I go out and play?’, his mom can say, “Yes.” “Brody is now working nearly all his time "outside" in the tent.

It's hard to make life completely normal for Brody, but Artinian and her team tried to make it as normal as they could.

It's hard to make life perfectly normal for Brody, but Artinian and her team tried to make it as normal as they could.

A35. D36. C37. B

34.A;35.D;36.C;37.B37.B;

Make-A-Wish Connecticut

. . . > >................................................................................................................... at Make-................................................................

With the help of Strong, the dream of going outdoors was realized.

故选 A项。

From the first and second sentences of the second paragraph, it is clear that Brody is a premature child born 27 weeks ago, so that he can easily overheat and burn easily. That means that he cannot be out of the room at any time, and even when he is driven to a hospital, he has a bubble in his face.

由第三段的 “It's the most simple, most sweet wish, just to play outside but it seems to be the most difficult to realize.”

According to the third paragraph, “It's the most simple, most sweet wish, just to play outside but it seems to be the most difficult to realize.” As you know, Make-A-Wish Connecticut thinks that his dream to play outdoors is simple and sweet, but it is the hardest thing to do (for Brody).

由第四段 “Make-A-Wish Connecticut learnt that Brody loves the beach, even though he is not able to go into water because of his backpack. So they filled the tent with water toys and a kids’ pool filled with balls to make Brody feel as much as possible like he's out at the beach.”

According to the fourth paragraph, “Make-A-Wish Contractor learns that Brody loves the beach, even though he is not able to go into water because of his backpack. So they filled the places with water toys and a kids’ pool filled with Balls to make Brody feel as much as possible like he's out at the beach.” As they know, Brody liked sand, but he couldn't go, they carefully created the sand scene for Brody.

Together with the whole text, especially the last paragraph, it is clear that, while it is difficult to make Brody’s life perfectly normal, Artinian and her team do what they can to make Brody’s life normal. So we can judge that, with their help, Brody’s life has changed a lot.

Surrounded by the sea off the coast in Mid-Norway, lies an island called Myken. This small island has about ten permanent residents, and for more than 50 years has been supplied with electricity via a 32-kilometer undersea cable (电缆). A break that appeared in the cable last autumn resulted in two months without power, so the island community started looking into a better way of sourcing their electricity.

Surrounded by the sea off the coast in Mid-Norway, lies an island called Myken. This small land has about ten permanents, and for more than 50 years has been proposed with 32-killer undersea capacity (cables).

Near the central coast of Norway, there is an island called Myken. There are about 10 permanent residents on this small island, which has been powered for more than 50 years by a 32-km submarine cable.

“Myken is far out at sea, so as far as possible it should be taking care of things itself,” says Kyrre Sundseth, who is a hydrogen (氢) researcher in Norway and also the project manager for Myken’s energy project. “This is why we want Myken to become entirely self-sufficient in energy. It is also important to take the environment into consideration,” he says.

“Myken is far out at sea, so as far as possible it should be taking care of things itself,” says Kyrre Sundseth, who is a threat to take the intervention into consideration, he says.

The Norwegian Hydrogen Researcher, Kyre Sundseth, energy manager of Myken, said, “Myken is far off the sea, so it should handle things on its own as much as possible.” That's why we want Myken to be completely self-sufficient in energy. It is also important to consider environmental considerations.

Much points to the idea that the solution may lie in a Hydrogen plant, specifically tailored for small islands. The “raw materials” for hydrogen production come from nature itself in the form of the sun and wind. Researchers have calculated that energy costs will be lower by using hydrogen production than the undersea cable option. And it is possible to store energy in the form of hydrogen for longer periods. This means that supplies will not have to rely on a lot of expensive batteries or external energy sources, even during periods when the sun isn’t shining, or the wind isn’t blowing.

Many argue that the solution may lie in a hydrogen plant specifically designed for small islands. The “material” for hydrogen production comes from nature itself, the sun and wind. Researchers calculate that the use of hydrogen for electricity generation reduces energy costs compared to submarine cables.

The Myken project has attracted several technology companies. They are currently working on a pilot project. The pilot involves experiments on the feasibility (可行性) of the hydrogen system in which electricity is generated from solar and wind sources. The electricity can be used immediately, but during periods when all the energy generated is not required, the spare energy can be used to split seawater into hydrogen and oxygen. The hydrogen can be stored in a tank, and used later to generate electricity. The pilot will help researchers know more about how effectively the system will work in the hydrogen plant. Since the island has a distillery (酿酒厂), where the distillation (蒸馏) process relies on energy, a hydrogen plant on Myken offers an even greater environmental benefit. Spare heat from the hydrogen system can also be used for the heating part in the distillation process.

The technology has increased from solar and wind sources that can be used effectively, but during years when the energy exists, it's not valid, the machine can be used more than they know and know more.

The Myken project has attracted several technology companies. They are currently undertaking a pilot project. Pilot projects include a feasibility experiment for solar and wind-powered hydrogen systems. Electricity can be used immediately, but when all the energy generated is not needed, excess energy can be used to decompose seawater into hydrogen and oxygen. Hydrogen can be stored in a container and then used to generate electricity. The experiment will help researchers to understand more about the efficiency of the system in hydrogen plants. As there is a distillation plant on the island, the distillation process depends on energy, a hydrogen plant on Myken provides greater environmental benefits.

“In Norway alone there are about 300 island inhabited all year round by small populations,” says Kyrre Sundseth. “All of these islands may be candidates for using this technology. In global terms we’re talking about 10,000 similar islands.”

“In Norway alone, there are about 300 small islands that are permanently inhabited by small groups,” Kirsandex says. “All these islands are potential candidates for this technology. Globally, we are talking about 10,000 similar islands.”

38. Why is a hydrogen plant suitable for Myken?

A. It is perfect in size for small islands. B. It can send electricity to faraway places.

C. It will restore local natural environment. D. It provides green and sustainable energy.

39. What is mainly talked about in Paragraph 4?

A. The study on the energy storage. B. The test on the hydrogen system.

C. The experiment on the raw materials. D. The research on the innovation of the pilot.

40. According to the passage, a hydrogen plant will ______.

A. produce purified seawater B. prove more technically reliable

C. contribute in more than one way D. benefit from the distillation process

41. What does Kyrre Sundseth think of the project?

A. Promising. B. Systematic. C. Irreplaceable. D. Time saving.

D39. B40. C41. A

38.D;39.B40.C40.C;41.A41.A;

. . . > >. >. >. >..........................................................................................................................................................................................................................

As the second sentence of paragraph 3 knows, “raw materials” generated by hydrogen come from nature’s sun and wind, and, in conjunction with the first sentence of paragraph 2, Myken has to take care of himself at the depths of the sea. As can be seen, Myken’s geographical location is costly, cable generation is expensive, and not entirely secure, and hydrogen power stations are less environmentally friendly, so Division D is selected.

Together with the first and second sentences of paragraph 4, it is clear that Myken’s program has attracted several technology companies that are currently undertaking pilot projects, which means that the program is now in an experimental phase.

According to the fourth paragraph, “It is known that during the experimental phase, researchers have experimented with the feasibility of hydrogen power plants, finding that hydrogen power plants can be useful in addition to generating electricity, and thus contribute in many ways. Division C has been selected.

故选 A项。

From the last paragraph, Kyrre Sundseth says that Norway alone has about 300 islands that live in only a fraction of their age, and that these islands may be suitable for this technology. Globally, there are about 100,000 similar islands.

We all experience similar moments. Running into the person you canceled a date with – while you’re on another date. Realizing you hit “reply all” on an e-mail that you’d do anything to have back. Earthquakes, medical emergencies – whatever the situation, the first thing you probably do is panic. Everybody does. While many of us think that we’re cool in a crisis, science tells us that we seldom are. At the moment we need to be keenly aware of our surroundings, but our attention goes to the scariest thing on the scene, leaving us unaware of the other sights, sounds, and even smells around us. At the moment, we’re anything but at our best.

We've all been through a similar moment. On another date, we happen to meet the person you canceled. You know you clicked on the e-mail to “reply everyone”, and you do everything you can to respond. Earthquakes, medical emergencies, whatever they are, the first thing you can do is panic. Everyone does. While many of us think that we are calm in a crisis, science tells us that we are rarely calm. At this point, we need to be keenly aware of our surroundings, but our attention is focused on the most terrible things, rather than on the other images, voices, or even the smell. At this moment, we are not in the best position.

These normal human reactions can be reversed. For example, firefighters are taught how to bring down their blood pressure and heart rates quickly, Box breathing, belly breathing, hum breathing – you can learn these techniques in minutes. Once you calm down, you’ll identify accurately what the problem is really about. Lack of practice always causes us to judge problems in wrong ways. Doing the thinking ahead of time also helps you fire off the solution when it’s show time. This is why you are advised to find the closest exit before the flight. And sometimes we aren’t prepared with all the knowledge we need. Let’s say we’re on a hike and a bear shows up. What shall we do? Better to read suggestions on how to respond before heading into the wild.

Once you calm down, you will find out exactly what the problem really is. The lack of practice always allows us to judge the problem in the wrong way. Early thinking can help you quickly come up with the solution when you show it. That is why you are advised to find the nearest exit before the plane takes off. Sometimes we are not ready to have all the knowledge we need.

Performing in a crisis is becoming more important for all of us for two reasons. Back in the good old days, the reliability of most anything we used or did was far less than it is today. Now think about what happens to our preparedness as the likelihood of something had happening reduces. Unless we practice what hardly ever happens, our ability to respond when it does happen tends to slip away. Reliability can kill you. Also, the systems we use today are more complex. There are seldom moving parts in plain view that allow us to see when things are about to go wrong. Consequently, terrible situations can “come out of nowhere”. Ironically, the systems that were designed to lessen our workload might require us to remain in a state of increased vigilance (警觉) in order to survive these increasingly infrequent events when they do happen.

Back in the good old days, our intelligence to responsible when most we use or did far less than it is today.

For all of us, it is becoming increasingly important to play a role in a crisis for two reasons. In the past few days, most of the things we use or do are far less reliable than today. Now, think about what happens when the likelihood of something happening diminishes. Unless we practice things that hardly happen, our ability to react tends to disappear.

As technology becomes part of most everything, and as once-large risks break into countless small ones, crisis situations may become standard affairs. We should all learn to breathe, recognize the situation, and carry out the plan that we are smart enough to prepare well in advance.

As technology becomes part of almost all things, and as the risks once great become numerous small ones, crisis situations can become standard things. We should all learn to breathe, understand the situation and plan plans, and we have the wisdom to be prepared in advance.

D43. B44. C45. C

42.D;43.B44.C44.C;45.C45.C;

. . . > > >. >. >. >. >. >. >. >. >. >. >. >. >.......................................................strong............................................................................................................................

由第二段倒数第二句话 “At the moment we need to be keenly aware of our surroundings, but our attention goes to the scariest thing on the scene, leaving us unaware of the other sights, sounds, and even smells around us.”

“At the moment we need to be aware of our surroundings, but our concern goes to the scene thing on the scene, leaving us unaware of the other sights, sounds, and even fears around us.

由第二段以及第三段的第一句话 “These normal human reactions can be reversed.”

From the first sentence of the second and third paragraphs, “These normal human rights can be reversed.” As you can see, in emergencies, people are afraid, panic, and these normal reactions can be reversed and can change. In conjunction with the following, examples are given below of firefighters who can lower their blood pressure and heart rate and calm themselves down.

由第四段 “Unless we practice what hardly ever happens, our ability to respond when it does happen tends to slip away. Reliability can kill you. Also, the systems we use today are more complex. There are seldom moving parts in plain view that allow us to see when things are about to go wrong.”

According to the fourth paragraph, “Unless we rely whatever happens to see when things are about to go wrong.” As we know, if we don't simulate something that doesn't happen when it happens, when things do happen, our ability to change will decline. This dependency can kill you.

Together with the full text, and in particular the final paragraph, it is clear that, as science and technology integrates into all aspects of life, and as the great risks once become numerous small risks, the risks may become normal. We should learn to calm down, identify the problems, and implement them according to our pre-prepared plans. This is the focus of this paper, which, as a rule, calls for early preparedness and awareness of early warning.

Dear Jim,

(Answer) Dear Jim.

I have to admit that when I learned about your plan, I was filled with admiration for your choice. Volunteering in Africa will definitely offer great help to the people in need. I believe it will be a meaningful and unforgettable experience and do hope your dream will come true.

However, our dream shouldn’t bring concerns to those who love and care about us. So you’d better not quarrel with your parents. It doesn’t help. Think why they are worried about your safety. Is your destination a safe one? My suggestion is to do some research on the program you plan to participate in. If it is a safe place, talk with your parents and tell them about your research result, which I believe will bring them relief. If it is not, I advise you to think twice.

Hope you can solve the problem soon.

Yours,

Li Hua

I had a really exciting National Day this week.

I had a really explaining National Day this week.

On that day, like hundreds of millions of families, my parents and I watched the National Day parade on TV excitedly and proudly till the very end of the ceremony, when thousands of pigeons and balloons were released and flew to the sky.

The pictures of the ceremony were flashing through my mind when suddenly I spotted a pigeon on the balcony. It was a beautiful white pigeon, resting on our balcony and refusing to fly away. Around its feet was a ring which read “the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China”. I couldn’t believe my eyes! This was a National Day pigeon! Realizing that it must have lost its way back home, I managed to find the telephone number of Beijing Pigeon Association and called up for help. In the meanwhile, my parents brought the pigeon inside and gave it some water and bird food.

Before long, the owner got the message and came to take the pigeon back. He thanked us a lot and we all felt honoured that we could do something for the unforgettable National Day!
