2012年3月,一则声称是快递企业星晨急便创始人陈平发出的“公司解散”短信在业内风传。号称创建“云快递”的星晨急便三年时间便轰然倒塌,引发市场一时唏嘘。

新京报:鑫飞鸿说你们拿走20多万货款,紧急转移了设备?

陈平:这是个误会。其实是,华南公司在3月1日时给鑫飞鸿员工发放了工资,但没有给星晨急便的员工发,到3月6、7日时,星晨急便的员工就闹事。结果一个星晨急便高管就派人收了东莞18万元的客户欠款,自己把星晨急便的工资发了。后来鑫飞鸿一看账上的钱没有了,就猜测是不是卷款跑了,引发了一场误会。
Chen Ping: This is a misunderstanding. The South China Company paid Jin Fei-hung’s employees on March 1, but did not send them to Starfleet workers. By March 6-7, the Starfleet workers went into trouble.

新京报:据说现在从法律意义上讲,鑫飞鸿并不属星晨急便?

陈平:当时跟鑫飞鸿签订的合同上写着,还清他们的3700万债务之后,鑫飞鸿所有资产都归我。合同最后一项还写着:公司股东大会批准生效。但当时星晨急便的股东并不赞同我这么做。我就自己拿了2200万投进去了,以个人名义借给鑫飞鸿,帮他还债务,到现在合同虽然签字但并没有生效,从法律意义上讲,鑫飞鸿还不属于星晨急便。
Chen Ping: It was written in the contract with Sung Fei-hung that after paying off their 37 million debt, Yong Fei-hung's assets belonged to me. The last one was written: the company's stockholders meeting approved it. But the stockholders at the early morning meeting did not agree with me. I took the 22 million and lent it to him personally to help him pay his debts. Now that the contract has not yet entered into force, it is not, in legal terms, a star's rush.
新京报:公司股东都没有同意,你就拿着自己的钱冲进去,当时怎么想的?
The New Kyoto newspaper: What did you think when you went in with your own money without the consent of the company's shareholders?
陈平:公司股东不批准,我就自己去赌,以个人的身份与鑫飞鸿签订合同。我当时是想如果收购整合成功了,我将会向董事会再次提出申请,并说服董事会将此次并购公开化,上升到公司层面,鑫飞鸿肯定跑不了,我为星晨急便做了件大好事,公司再把钱还给我个人。如果失败了,我自己投的钱,责任我来承担,我也认了。
Chen Ping: If the shareholders of the company do not approve, I will bet on myself to sign a contract with Xing Fei-hung in my personal capacity. I thought that if the merger succeeded, I would apply to the board again and convince the board to open up the merger to the company level, that Xiang Fei-hung would not be able to run away, that I had done a great thing for the early morning, and that the company would return the money to me personally. If I failed, I would take responsibility for it.
新京报:大家都说鑫飞鸿是压垮陈平的最后一根稻草,你现在后悔吗?

陈平:既然赌了就不应该后悔。但如果再给我一次选择,我会在资金更充裕的时候做这件事。后悔我没有在条件更充分的时候去做这件事。
Chen Ping: There is no reason to regret it if you bet. If you give me another choice, I will do it when the money is better. Regret that I did not do it when the terms were better.
新京报:现在员工的欠薪、加盟商的欠款处理得怎样了?资金缺口有多大?

陈平:开始慢慢平静了。我把房子和车子抵押了,从银行贷了300多万。我们并不是说钱没了,有一个多大的窟窿,我现在是三角债务,我拿了他的加盟款和保证金,他又拿了我的货款和货,还有一些罚款,系统的扣款,对完以后,总数是平的。决不是赔得什么都不剩。

陈平:我希望尽快恢复运营,股东大会特别讨论了目前跟加盟商、客户之前的欠款问题,这些债权债务关系会在本月内清理掉,三角债对冲之后整体是平的,并不存在资金缺口。

陈平:我觉得旁观者清,这些评价我是能接受的。

在宅急送2008年的那次转型,由传统物流转为快递时,应该还是过激了一点,现在大家都认为我的方向是对的,但是大家并没有跟上我。我个人跑的太快了,当我一回头的时候,我的队伍没有跟上,这样打仗肯定失败。
The transition from traditional logistics to couriers in 2008 was a bit too much, and now everyone thinks I'm right, but they're not following me. I run too fast, and when I turn back, my team doesn't keep up, so the war will fail.
当时来自家族员工的压力、投资者都不满,宅急送内部矛盾爆发,再加上融资不成功和金融危机三重压力,我含恨从宅急送出来。那个时候的恨是恨别人,怎么这些人都不理解我,不拥护我。
The pressure from family employees, the displeasure of investors, the sudden breakdown of home disputes, combined with the three-fold pressure of unsuccessful financing and financial crisis, led me to hate coming out of the house. The hatred at that time was hatred of others. How could these people not understand me or support me?
这次也是含恨,这次恨自己,恨自己太贪大求全。

新京报:从宅急送出来,到二次创业面临巨大困境,如果这次星晨急便倒了,你打算做什么?

陈平:如果这次星晨急便起不来了,我也不会离开这个行业。1993年我从日本留学回来,把物流快递的概念带到中国来,20多年我一直在快递物流行业打拼,第一个提出云快递、落地配,第一个尝试代理代收的模式,我看着中国快递物流业从无到有,感情太深了。就此放弃,这不是我陈平的人生,即使跟别人打工我也不会离开快递物流业,我会一直工作到最后。
Chen Ping: I won't leave the industry if I don't get up this early morning. I came back from Japan in 1993 to bring the concept of logistics couriers to China, and for more than 20 years I have been working in the Express logistics industry, the first to come up with a model of cloud couriers and landings, the first to try surrogates, and I look at China's Express logistics industry for nothing and too much. So give up. This is not my life, Chen Ping. I will not leave the Express logistics business even if I work with someone else, and I will work until the end.
未来平台一定是直营

新京报:这次星晨急便的危机爆发,很多人认为是你对加盟模式控制不力,你觉得加盟制还适合现在的市场环境吗?
The New Kyoto newspaper: Do you feel that the current market environment is suitable for this early morning crisis, when many people think that you have weak control over the association model?
陈平:在世界上任何一个角落,没有一个用加盟模式做快递物流的,但在中国,还要用加盟模式做。
Chen Ping: In any corner of the world, there is no one who uses the association model for express delivery logistics, but also in China.
首先,中国这种文化,大家宁当鸡头,不当凤尾,大家都想当老板,自己开个小店都很有成就感。
First of all, China's culture, where everyone prefers to be a chicken head, not a chicken tail, where everyone wants to be a boss, has a sense of accomplishment in opening a small shop.
第二,在中国,人们的收入水平低,所以他在用快递的时候考虑的是成本,对价格很敏感,只有用加盟方式才能满足你这种低价格的服务水平。
Secondly, in China, where the income level is low, he considers costs when using couriers, is sensitive to prices and can only satisfy your low-priced level of services by joining forces.
但这种模式也有很大的问题,就是流动性大,服务不稳定,很容易出现问题,这是中国快递业未来需要共同解决的。借鉴国外肯德基麦当劳的加盟经验,所有的房子都是我来租,如果你加盟商不符合我的要求,我马上把你赶走,下一个再进来,所以将来快递加盟,平台一定是直营的,这样就掌握了话语权。

在淘宝起步遇阻
We're in the middle of a scavenger hunt.
1993年,从日本留学归来的陈平创立了国内首个民营快递企业——宅急送。这次陈平尝试了一种被他称之为“云快递”的方式,向直客、加盟网点开放平台,实现货物的全国配送。很快,这一模式受到阿里巴巴青睐,2010年阿里入股。
In 1993, Chen Ping, the home of Japan's first private courier, was founded in Japan. This time Chen Ping tried to open up the platform to direct customers and allied points for the distribution of goods throughout the country, in what he called the “Cloud Express.” Soon, this model was favoured by Ali Baba, who joined the stock market in 2010.
淘宝平台几乎是所有民营快递公司的生存之本,只要能从中分一杯羹,公司的生存和扩张不成问题。但即使有阿里的支持,一年之后,星晨急便的淘宝业务也没有起色。
But, even with Ali’s support, a year later, there was no improvement in the early-morning treasure-hunting business.
“我发现一个拦路虎,淘宝很多卖家就是四通一达(申通快递、圆通速递、中通速递、汇通快运、韵达快运)的加盟商,既是淘宝卖家又是四通一达的加盟商,他的货绝不会发给星晨急便,而阿里并没有物流的支配权。我们的客户实际上是我们的对手,我们怎么可能斗得过。”陈平说。

转型B2C再陷僵局
The transition B2C is in a state of deadlock again.
陈平在描述自己性格时曾用“善变”一词,在进军淘宝受阻之后,陈平快速调整了思路,决定转向B2C,开始向京东、当当、亚马逊、凡客、一号店等几家大商家靠拢。

“市场发生变化了。我做宅急送的时候哪里有这样的事情?那时候市场切成几段,我以为电子商务也是这样的。”陈平说。

再次转型溃于蚁穴

C2C不成,B2C也被自建物流挡住了,成立已逾两年的星晨急便在两次尝试中资金损失严重,更严重的是,还不知道生存空间在哪里。
C2C is not available, B2C is also blocked by self-build logistics, and the early start-up of two years has resulted in serious financial losses in two attempts and, more seriously, in an unknown existence.
陈平“善变”的性格又一次体现出来,不过,这一次他的动作看起来像是“孤注一掷”。这一次陈平看上的是代理代收业务。在超市、便利店、宾馆设立代理代收快递点,然后由公司快速收货、分拣。这时的陈平看重了华南市场的一家精细化公司鑫飞鸿。
